In 2019, the Austrian TV station Puls4 (part of the Germany based ProSiebenSat.1 Group) launched the 24-hour news channel Puls24. What may seem late by international standards is, however, an innovation for the small Austrian market. Puls24 sees itself as a counterweight to the public broadcaster ORF. Its claim is to contextualize all news, i.e. to comment on and/or analyze it. From the very beginning, the news channel has also set the focus on digital video content, which is published on the associated web portal
